Bechtle Foundation Scholarship

From the 2026/2027 winter semester onwards, the Bechtle Foundation will be providing funding to students at Heilbronn University and the TUM Campus Heilbronn who are studying a computer science-related degree and are first-time university students.

To this end, the Bechtle Foundation is offering five scholarships.

The scholarship amounts to €300.00 per month.

The funding will commence on 1 October 2026 and will initially be granted for two semesters.

You’ve come to the right place if you

are enrolled at Heilbronn University or the TUM Campus Heilbronn on one of the following degree programmes (Bachelor’s or Master’s):

- Applied Artificial Intelligence
- Applied Computer Science
- Medical Informatics
- Software Engineering
- Engineering Informatics
- Artificial Intelligence & Industrial Digitalisation
- Business Informatics
- Management & Digital Technology
- Management & Data Science
- Information Engineering
- Management

  • have a higher-than-average grade point average
  • are the first in your family to attend university, i.e. your parents do not hold a university degree
  • are in at least the 3rd semester of your Bachelor’s degree or, at most, the 1st semester of your Master’s degree at the time of applicatio
  • be highly motivated and have a keen interest in IT, a strong willingness to learn, the ability to reflect, and a sense of responsibility for yourself and those around you
  • financial support represents a tangible boost to your educational and development opportunities
For your application, we require:
  • Letter of motivation (max. one A4 page)
  • Curriculum vitae (CV)
  • Current Transcript of records
  • Certificate of enrolment for the 2026/27 winter semester (if not yet available, then for the 2026 summer semester)
  • University entrance qualification or bachelor’s degree certificate
  • certificates of relevant work placements, vocational training, professional experience, voluntary work, etc.
  • An informal declaration from both parents stating that they do not hold an academic degree. The declaration must include the parents’ first names and surnames, dates of birth and signatures

If the application documents are not in German or English, an officially certified translation into German must be enclosed.

Application Process

1. First, upload all the required documents via the application portal.

If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to a virtual interview.

2. You can expect to be notified of an invitation to the virtual interview by 18 September 2026. The interviews themselves are expected to take place on 22 September and 29 September 2026.


Applications received after the deadline and/or containing incomplete documents will not be considered in the selection process.
